Were 12th-grade Lawrence County School District students in 2023-24 school year ready for college?

SAT scores in Lawrence County School District showed there were more 12th-grade students ready for college in the 2023-24 school year, according to the Alabama Department of Education.

Amongst all 12th-grade students in Lawrence County School District, 85.1% were considered ready to graduate, compared to 86.8% the year before.

Throughout the district, Hatton High School had the best performance, with an average college readiness of 85.7%. Meanwhile, Lawrence County High School was at the bottom of the list, with 79.6% considered ready for college.

There were a total of 320 students enrolled in Lawrence County School District 12th-grade.

Alabama's educational system was rated as one of the worst in the U.S., according to a 2023 study from Scholaroo. The state was ranked 46th based on factors such as school quality, student success, and teacher-to-student ratio.
