14 businesses registered in cities in Morgan County during October 2022

There were 14 businesses that registered in cities within Morgan County during October 2022, according to the Alabama Secretary of State.

This is 17 percent more than the month before, when 12 businesses were registered.

Hartselle registered the most businesses in Morgan County.

More than 99 percent of Alabama's businesses are considered small, with more than 47 percent of Alabama's employees working for a small business, according to the U.S. Small Business Administration.

A Civic Economics study found $100 spent at a locally-owned business puts $47 back into the local economy while the total is just $13 for non-local businesses.
