The stately Hartselle First Christian Church has stood to greet those entering Hartselle’s east side of town for over 100 years. Hundreds pass the church’s beautiful stained-glass windows, stone exterior, and iconic red door every week, and on Monday, September 12th, the Hartselle Historical Society offers the opportunity to walk inside and learn of the church’s rich history with “Down Memory Lane.”
Hartselle’s First Christian Church was founded in 1881 by a seven-member congregation who met in an A-frame building on the south end of Milner Street. The present building at 209 Main Street East was erected in 1922. Its congregation celebrated its 100th anniversary in May of 2022.
Don’t miss this chance to celebrate a special piece of Hartselle history. A welcome will be given at 6:15 in the sanctuary, followed by a tour of the building. Displays and refreshments will be in the basement. An elevator is located next to handicap parking at the rear of the building.
