Decatur-Morgan County Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on Aug 4.
ProsperityPAC – the political action committee of the Decatur-Morgan County Chamber of Commerce – has decided not to endorse or financially support any candidates for the 2020 City of Decatur municipal elections set for Tuesday, Aug. 25.
While associated with the Chamber, the PAC operates with its own separate board of directors and budget. We encourage all Chamber members to exercise their right to vote and hope they will consider supporting those candidates who support business and community issues that impact us all.
About ProsperityPAC: ProsperityPAC was established by members of the Decatur-Morgan County Chamber of Commerce who believe in order to promote the maintenance of the free enterprise system, there should be an opportunity for widespread participation in the political process by members of the Chamber, their employees and others who may wish to take part. This separate fund was set up to promote and facilitate the receipt of voluntary contributions in support of various candidates for election to state and local offices in Alabama.
