Dale W. Strong, a U.S. Congressman representing Alabama’s 5th district since 2023, shared his thoughts on social media regarding recent legislative developments. Strong, who succeeded Mo Brooks and has previously served in the Alabama House of Representatives and the Madison County Commission, provided insights into a bill aimed at addressing immigration issues.

On January 22, 2025, Strong posted about the bill’s potential impact on public safety. He stated that “This bill will save lives. It gives ICE the power to detain illegal aliens who commit criminal offenses, ensuring that they can’t keep committing crimes.”

In a subsequent post on the same day, Strong highlighted the bill’s provisions for border protection. He noted that “It provides better protection for our border.” He further explained that “The Laken Riley Act gives states the power to take action against federal officials unwilling to protect Americans from illegal immigration.”

Later that day, Strong emphasized the bipartisan nature of the legislation. He mentioned that “It’s strong, bipartisan legislation.” The bill was sponsored by Senator Katie Britt and had garnered support from both parties: “This bill was sponsored by my friend @SenKatieBritt in the Senate and passed its last procedural hurdle with 12 Democrats in support.” Strong urged for its passage by stating: “Our time is now, let’s get it passed.”
