Congressman Dale Strong, a member of the Appropriations Committee, announced on April 30 that the committee has passed the Fiscal Year 2027 Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration, and Related Agencies Bill. The bill includes two community project funding allocations for North Alabama.

Strong said, “This is an important first step toward delivering the resources our communities need to strengthen critical water infrastructure. North Alabama families deserve reliable, safe water systems, and I will keep working with my colleagues to push these projects across the finish line.”

The committee approved $5,542,200 in total for infrastructure projects in North Alabama. Of this amount, $4,542,200 is allocated to the City of Moulton for improvements to its water treatment facility and $1,000,000 is set aside for the Town of Eva to upgrade its wastewater treatment plant. The appropriations bill now moves forward to consideration by the full U.S. House of Representatives.

This funding effort is part of Strong’s ongoing work to secure federal investments for residents in his district. “I will never apologize for bringing your tax dollars back home to North Alabama. I am proud to fight for resources like this that allow our communities to make critical infrastructure improvements,” Strong said.

Dale Strong currently serves in Congress representing Alabama’s 5th district after replacing Mo Brooks in 2023 according to Ballotpedia. He has represented this district since 2023 and previously served both in the Alabama House of Representatives and on the Madison County Commission according to his official biography. Born in Monrovia in 1970 and now living in Huntsville as reported by AL.com, Strong graduated from Athens State University with a Bachelor of Science degree.

The Fiscal Year 2027 Agriculture Appropriations Act is one of twelve annual bills advanced by committee each year. This legislation provides $26.3 billion for agencies that oversee food safety and support rural communities while aiming at fiscal discipline.
