Dale W. Strong, U.S. Congressman representing Alabama’s 5th district since 2023, recently shared updates and personal reflections on his official X (formerly Twitter) account regarding developments in Huntsville and a message of support for a public figure.
On September 9, 2025, Strong posted: “We’re excited to have @US_SpaceCom in the Rocket City!” The following day, he wrote about meeting with General Whiting from U.S. Space Command: “It was great to meet with @US_SpaceCom General Whiting this morning. I am looking forward to the bright future of the Space Command Headquarters in Huntsville, Alabama!” Later that same day, Strong addressed an unrelated matter with a personal note: “Please join me in praying for Charlie Kirk and his family. This is sickening.”
Strong’s posts highlight the significance of U.S. Space Command’s presence in Huntsville—often referred to as “Rocket City” due to its long-standing association with space exploration and defense industries. The reference to General Whiting underscores ongoing engagement between local leaders and military officials regarding the command’s headquarters.
Dale Strong succeeded Mo Brooks as representative for Alabama’s 5th district in 2023 after previously serving both in the Alabama House of Representatives and on the Madison County Commission. Born in Monrovia, Alabama in 1970, Strong resides in Huntsville and holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Athens State University.
