Dale W. Strong, U.S. Congressman representing Alabama’s 5th district since 2023, has used his social media platform to address recent anniversaries and ongoing political disputes. On October 7, 2025, Strong reflected on the two-year anniversary of the Hamas attack in Israel and commented on the federal government shutdown.
In a post on October 7, 2025, Strong wrote, “Two years ago today, Hamas terrorists carried out a barbaric attack on the Jewish people, murdering over 1,200 innocent Israelis and taking 250 hostages. May we never forget the horrors of October 7th. The U.S. stands firmly with Israel against those who seek its destruction. I’m”. The attack referenced by Strong occurred on October 7, 2023.
Later that day, Strong addressed the government shutdown, stating, “Today marks a full week since the Senate Democrats shutdown our government. @HouseGOP has done our job and passed a clean CR to keep things running. Democrats are holding our government hostage, and Americans are being impacted. It is time to get back to work.” In another post on October 8, he added, “The @HouseGOP voted for a clean, short-term CR to keep the government open. It’s past time for Senate Democrats to do the same.”
Strong succeeded Mo Brooks in Congress in 2023 after previously serving in the Alabama House of Representatives and on the Madison County Commission. He was born in Monrovia, Alabama in 1970 and currently resides in Huntsville. Strong holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Athens State University.
