Dale W. Strong, U.S. Congressman representing Alabama’s 5th district since 2023, recently posted a series of statements on social media highlighting his positions on national defense and government spending.
On July 18, 2025, Strong expressed support for President Trump’s nomination of General Michael Guetlein as the Golden Dome Czar. In his post, he stated: “President Trump’s decision to have General Michael Guetlein serve as the Golden Dome Czar is a strategic move to strengthen our national defense at a critical time. I applaud the Senate for swiftly taking up his nomination, and I look forward to working with him to defend our” (July 18, 2025).
Later that day, Strong commented on legislation targeting foreign aid and public broadcasting funding. He wrote: “The bill to slash billions of bloated foreign aid and biased media handouts is headed to President Trump’s desk. I’ve long called for NPR’s funding to be cut – your taxpayer dollars shouldn’t be used to promote left-wing propaganda. I am proud to work with my Republican” (July 18, 2025).
In another post from July 18, Strong discussed recent legislative action in the House of Representatives: “Last night, the @HouseGOP passed @HouseAppropsGOP legislation to reinforce America’s military superiority, shape a more efficient and effective DoD, protect U.S. assets at home and abroad, and take care of troops and their families.

Strong has served in Congress since replacing Mo Brooks in Alabama’s 5th District in 2023. Prior to his congressional service, he was a member of the Alabama House of Representatives and the Madison County Commission. Born in Monrovia in 1970 and currently residing in Huntsville at age 52, Strong holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Athens State University.
