On February 8, the Chamber held its first Breakfast & Biz event of 2023. Michael Bridier, Project Manager of the Alabama Office of Apprenticeship for Region 1, explained how to develop and prepare your workforce using apprenticeships. Michael works with organizations to promote work-based learning opportunities in north Alabama. His goal is to work with employers, community stakeholders and job seekers to develop pathways that provide affordable, challenging, technical skills training to meet the needs of an ever-growing Alabama workforce.

During the presentation, Michael explained how a registered apprenticeship can help recruit, train and retain employees and how to develop a registered apprenticeship specific to your workforce needs.

The Chamber’s Breakfast & Biz professional development training and networking session provides ongoing support for our local business partners. Breakfast & Biz is presented by Redstone Federal Credit Union and our host sponsor is The Magnolia Room. The next Breakfast & Biz event will be on April 20 with Amy Gillott, executive director of the Decatur Morgan Hospital West Campus.
